Information we collect

We may collect account and contact information, including your name, company name, email address, authentication identifiers, trade specialties, service areas, and profile preferences.

We may also collect subscription and transaction information, saved projects, alert preferences, support requests, product interactions, device information, browser information, IP address, security logs, and diagnostic information.

Payment-card information is processed by Stripe. BuildDetect does not store complete payment-card numbers on its own systems.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, personalize construction opportunities, operate search and alert features, process subscriptions, provide customer support, improve data quality, prevent abuse, maintain service reliability, and comply with legal obligations.

How information may be disclosed

We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate BuildDetect, including authentication, database, hosting, payment, email-delivery, analytics, and security providers. These providers may use information only as permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the public, investigate fraud or security incidents, enforce our agreements, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.

BuildDetect does not sell personal information for money. If our practices change in a way that creates additional legal rights, we will update this policy and provide required choices.

Public records and business information

BuildDetect processes construction permits, planning records, meeting materials, company names, professional information, and related records made available by government agencies and other public sources. Public-record information may be displayed, organized, summarized, or linked to related project intelligence.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may update profile information and communication preferences through your account. You may also ask to access, correct, or delete personal information, subject to verification and legal exceptions.

California residents may have additional rights under applicable California privacy law. BuildDetect will not discriminate against a person for exercising an applicable privacy right.

BuildDetect and its service providers may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, service operation, and performance measurement.

Children and policy changes
